Senior Web Developer

We are looking for senior backend web developers to help grow our in-house solutions. This is a full-time permanent position based in our London office, so no applications from agencies or remote workers.

As a part of our in-house team, you will be working on developing solutions to scaling our unique e-commerce operations. Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience working with scalable web solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will need to demonstrate your ability to write clear and highly performant code in collaboration with the in-house development team.

Languages

Ruby and Node primarily, but we support people to use the best tool for the job.

Architecture

Partially monolithic (Sinatra, ExpressJS), but moving towards service-oriented architecture (SOA) and some micro-services. Containers are used for some projects and in Continuous Integration (CI).

Platforms

Amazon Web Services (AWS), Heroku, Now

Pipeline

CircleCI, NewRelic, HostedGraphite, Logentries.

We are invested in CI and Continuous Delivery (CD) and proud of having a great coverage on unit, integration and end-to-end tests.

We invest towards eventual consistency as we use a lot of queues, webhooks and third-parties as source of truth.

We want to focus on observability and want to know what is going on, how to improve and how to keep applications flexible with quick recoveries.

Essentials

  • 3+ years experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Ruby and/or Node
  • Ability to confidently ship production-ready code
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Git for VCS
